Dosso Kassimou is a long time Newark resident, a social activist and community organizer. Dosso holds
two Masters Degrees in Diplomacy and International Relations; and in Public Affairs and
Administration from Seton Hall University.
Dosso has a long time of experience in Project Management. He was very instrumental in conducting
the relocation and land swap process among the key stake holders to facilitate the construction of
the prudential arena working with the Newark Downtown Core Redevelopment Corporation (NDCRC). Dosso
also worked with the Department of Asset Preservation and managed the daily operations of the Newark
Housing Authority’s Energy Conservation project, and helped save over $3 million-dollars of wasteful
energy and water consumption for the organization.
Prior to joining the NPG, Dosso served as a VP in Real Estate Project Management & Foreign
Investment in the City of Newark’s Economic Community Development Corporation (NECDC) currently
known as “Invest Newark”. He successfully led the development and construction of “Mulberry
Commons”, a World-class park in the downtown Newark, which was inaugurated on June 14, 2019; as well
the demolition of the old destressed bank located on 505 Clinton Avenue in Newark, New Jersey to be
ready for future development.
Dosso is responsible for the management, maintenance and monitoring of all Urban Renewal development
property related matters, including vacant lands. He also led the environmental investigation,
demolition on future housing development sites and special project for NPG.
Dosso has received several distinguished awards, including the Seton Hall University’s most eminent
Award the “Many Are One” Alumni Service Award, in recognition of his commitment to human rights and
advocacy; the “Leadership & Heritage Awards” from the African-American Heritage Organization;
the “Black Excellence Award”, presented by the New Jersey Legislative Black Caucus. Dosso also
serves as a member of the Buccino Leadership Institute Advisory Council and the School of Diplomacy
& International Relations’ Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice Initiative.
